The last few weeks have been very interesting in boxing sport with the retirement of the most prominent boxers. Most notably, retired former Super Midtuit "168" and heavyweight "175" champion Andre Ward "32-0, 16 Kos". Before announcing his retirement, Ward was ranked by many channels as the world's best fighter pound against the pound. The debate over the pound-pound position of the boxing elite has always been a key point of contact. Now after the expiration of the Mayweather-Pacquiao period and with Ward's retirement, many fans leave wondering who is the best in the world or can say in history.

In the last few months, the Roman king "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (46-2, 38 Kos) was officially pushed from perch near the elite summit by Sersakit Sur Rongvisay (44-4-1, 40 Kos). Thailand's Rongvisai scored a serious knockout in the fourth round of Gonzalez in the final that ended any doubt for the fans.

Gonzales had many skeptics during his latest tour that began on HBO with the disbanding of Edgar Sosa's second round in May 2015. It is unfortunate that many fans could not see Gonzales in the boss when he fought at 105 and 108 and most run it at 112 pounds. The Nicaraguan fighter was the only one of his country to win titles in four weight divisions and fought best for each division to offer. For Gonzales, the work was already enhanced to reach the Hall of Fame before being seen by a wider audience on "HBO".

The discussion of the pound against the pound starting this month is back and forth between the famous fighters. The first is the current center (160) world champion Gennady "na" Golovkin "37-0-1, 33 Kos".
Kazakhs come from this year's most successful financially in terms of their career after having faced their most serious rival so far in Daniel Jacobs "32-2, 29 Koss" and Saul "Canillo" Alvarez "49-1-2, 34 Kos". Golovkin won the unanimous decision of Jacobs in March of this year and settled on a draw with Alvarez in September. Including a draw with respectable boxer Alvarez, Golovkin has now made 19 consecutive title defenses of his average weight title winning 17 of them by the knockout. For those who believe that Golovkin should sit at the top of the pound rating, for the pound, they point to his understated defense, his enormous intellect and that he may be the best Gap in the sport. Reliable publications such as "ESPN and Ring magazine" have a Golovkin at point 1 pound sterling for now. In 35 years of age, many feel that Golovkin has already seen his best days, a slight decline from his form a few years ago.
